These are two sketches I did from the porch in my cabin while I was at the Knoepfli Inn in Magnetawan earlier this month.With the first one there were a couple of white birch trees beside a large maple tree. With the morning sunlit filtering through the bright maple leaves which created a strong contrast against the birches and cast lovely blue grey shadows across the white bark.

The second one was of maple and oak trees and their brilliant multi coloured leaves standing out against the rough grey bark and the greens of pine tree branches behind them.The sunlight provided a warm golden glow of colour to the multitude of fallen leaves on the ground.
I will post both of these once paint has been applied to the sketches.
